Supercharger Nitrous Install

We started by removing the air intake tube from the throttle body and MAF sensor.

This is the plug fitting on the MagnaCharger intake tube that we will use to install the NOS Nozzle later.

Next, we remove the driver's side engine cover.

With the cover removed, we now have access to the fuel rail test port.

This is the location of the test port on the fuel rail.

All of the NOS goodies ready for installation.

The front grille is removed for access to run the purge lines

Here is the proposed location for mounting the nitrous feed and purge solenoids.

After planning the general layout of the system, we insert the nitrous solenoid in the vise to install the pipe fittings.

In order to properly seal the pipe fittings, we use a high pressure Teflon paste suitable for gas fittings. Only use on pipe fittings, AN threads do not require sealant!

Thread sealant is applied to the fittings.

Then the fitting is installed into the solenoid on the input side.

The solenoid is then flipped over to install the nitrous line that feeds the nozzle.

Thread sealant is applied to the threads on the line.

The line is then installed into the solenoids output side.

After swapping the nitrous solenoid for the purge solenoid in the vise, we install a nitrous filter into the input side of the purge solenoid.

An in-line 4AN fitting is then installed onto the purge solenoids nitrous filter.

The in-line fitting is then orientated for the location of the future purge line.

We then install the fuel outlet line and inlet fitting into the fuel solenoid, also using thread sealant.

The solenoid mounting bracket is installed onto the fuel solenoid. We made a slight s-bend in the bracket to clear the inlet fitting.

The nitrous and purge solenoids are then assembled together along with a nitrous pressure gauge as one unit. The solenoid mounting bracket is installed on the bottom of the nitrous solenoid.

The nitrous solenoid assembly is mounted to the existing 10mm bolt at the bottom of the coolant overflow tank on the passenger side fender well.

The -4 nitrous feed line is temporarily connected to the solenoid assembly and routed along the fender well towards the cab where it is then dropped down to the frame rail area.

The nitrous output line is then routed towards the nozzle location at the bottom of the air intake tube.
